About Rbcpay
What does Rbcpay actually do?
Rbcpay holds the buyer’s payment while a transaction is completed. The seller ships knowing the money is secured, and funds are released once the buyer has approved what arrived.
Who is Rbcpay for?
Anyone transacting with someone they cannot easily verify: private buyers and sellers, dealers, brokers, marketplaces and businesses buying from overseas suppliers.
What can I use it for?
Vehicles, domains and websites, electronics, general merchandise, jewellery and watches, art, PPE, IPv4 blocks, and services paid in milestones.
Accounts and verification
Both parties need a registered account so the terms can be agreed and funds released to the correct party. Verification protects both sides and allows Rbcpay to meet its legal obligations.
- Both buyer and seller must hold a registered account
- Identity verification is required before a transaction proceeds
- The information requested depends on your location and transaction size
- Accounts are held one per person or per business entity
- Contact support to close an account; some records must be retained
Starting and running a transaction
Who starts it?
Either party can create the transaction, or a broker can create it for both. Whoever creates it sets the initial terms for the other party to accept or renegotiate.
Can terms change?
Terms can be renegotiated before the transaction is funded. Once funds have been received, any change requires both parties to agree.
What is the inspection period?
The window, agreed before payment, during which the buyer checks that what was delivered matches what was agreed.
Can it be cancelled?
A transaction can be cancelled if both parties agree, or under the conditions set out in the Terms and Conditions.
Payments, fees and payouts
Fees, currency and payout timing are all settled before a transaction is funded, so neither side is surprised later.
- Fees are calculated according to the published fee schedule
- The fee can be paid by the buyer, the seller, or split between both
- The currency is agreed before payment and cannot be changed once funded
- Funds are released as soon as the buyer approves
- Once released, a payment is final and is not subject to chargebacks
Transaction sizes run from small private sales up to very large commercial deals. Contact support if yours is unusually large or complex.
Shipping and delivery
The seller should ship only after Rbcpay has confirmed that the buyer’s funds are secured, never on the strength of a message or a screenshot.
The carrier and who pays for shipping form part of the terms both parties agree before payment. If goods are lost or damaged in transit the buyer does not approve, so funds are not released, and the outcome follows the agreed terms.
Disputes and problems
The item does not match the description. What now?
Reject it during the inspection period. The item is returned according to the agreed terms and the payment is returned to the buyer.
Who decides the outcome of a disagreement?
The terms both parties accepted before payment determine the outcome. Rbcpay applies those terms rather than taking either side.
Someone is asking me to pay outside Rbcpay.
Do not pay. Payments made outside a Rbcpay transaction carry none of the protection described on this site. Report it to escrow@rbcpay.com.
